Screen Time software is evolving to give parents more control over their family's devices. It runs with a specific function and steps which we have outlined below to ensure your children's usage is achieved within proper and safe limits. Sophisticated Screen Time has the ability to manage texts, phone calls, FaceTime calls, and even contacts on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Apple integrated Screen Time on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch in iOS 12, there was no possibility of full management of children's texts or phone calls, FaceTime calls and contacts. Now with the new software update that's being released, iOS 13.3, parents will have a more comprehensive view of what their kids are using. For now, iOS 13.3 is only available as a developer or public beta. But soon it is being launched that the feature will be available to everyone.
Below is how to set the screen time on your child's device and how to set the communication limits.
Note that the Family Organizer device and the child's device must be running iOS 13.3 or later.
Set the screen time for your child's device:

Step #1 You'll need to use Family Sharing, and continue reading here about setting up and creating a child account if you haven't already done so.
Step #2 With Family Sharing and your child's account set as a "child account", head to Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
Step #3 Navigate to the screen time, swipe down and search for your child's name, select it.
Step #4 Select Screen activation time.
Step #5 Follow the prompts to set the cut-off time, application limits, content and privacy, etc.
Step #6 When you're done, go to the next steps to enable text, call and contact management.

Setting communication limits for your child:
Step #1 Now with your child's account selected on the screen, select Communication limits.
Step #2 You can control who can text, call and FaceTime as well as manage their contacts.
Step #3 Touch each section to set rules for the duration of the allowed screen and during the downtime.
Step #4 Touch the toggle next to Manage your child's contacts to turn on detailed control over them.
Step #5 After you turn on Contact Manager, you or your child must approve the request on your child's device.
In case you wish to manage or set your child's contacts, you can under the allowed contact section.
Once it has been activated, you or your child will need to approve it on their device on the Time > Requests screen: Manage Contacts > tap Approve. Once this is also done, as a Family Organizer, you will be able to manage contacts as shown in the image above on the right.
It is important that such applications are carried out so that our children are at safe and appropriate boundaries in their experience. Besides, it is an easy process which if achieved once step by step by the parent, formalizes the start of proper device use by children! Thank you Apple!
