An Oklahoma woman reports that her Apple Watch may have saved her life. The story begins in 2021, but the details of how her watch prevented a tragedy became known just before World Diabetes Day on November 14, 2023.

Judith Luebke, the woman who witnessed the incident, discovered that she had diabetes, a problem she had not previously realized. During an emergency visit to the doctor, she was diagnosed with dangerously high blood sugar levels that could have been fatal for a diabetic.

On a Friday morning, she received a notification from her Apple Watch, which indicated that atrial fibrillation (AFib), an abnormality in the heart rhythm, had been detected. She initially thought it was due to the stress she was experiencing due to the loss of a loved one.

Discussing the issue with her boss, who convinces her to visit the doctor immediately, she discovered the diagnosis of diabetes. If she had waited until the weekend, as she originally thought, her situation could have been fatal. Her daughter expresses gratitude to the Apple Watch alert and those who motivated her to pay attention to the warning, emphasizing how without it, her situation would have been completely different.
