It looks like Apple is taking a major step in expanding its ecosystem with a new device intended for the smart home!
This new display, according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, is expected to be released in 2025 and will be called HomeOS. This new operating system will be based on tvOS, which is already used in Apple TV and HomePod, and will provide an integrated solution for controlling smart home devices.
With HomeOS, the new smart screen will allow users to keep track of daily information such as calendars and notes, and will also incorporate artificial intelligence features for even smarter management.
The ability to magnetically mount the screen on the wall offers convenience and space-saving, while voice control and camera gesture recognition promise a completely hands-free experience.

This Apple strategy is targeted at users who already use an iPad or iPhone to control their smart home devices, offering a more specialized solution. Following market trends, Apple seems to be following Google's lead with the Nest Hub and other companies that have similar devices for smart home control.
While the idea of having a camera screen in the home may raise privacy concerns, it's clear that Apple intends to position itself as the best option for those already within its ecosystem.
With the credibility of the source, it remains to be seen if this device will become a new important part of the smart home in 2025.
