The overheating problem has been significantly reduced with the release of iOS 17.0.3. However, there are reports that Apple is considering a more radical solution with a hardware upgrade in the next iPhone 16 series.

According to rumors, Apple is actively considering replacing the copper heatsink in the iPhone 15 with a graphene heatsink in the iPhone 16. Graphene offers higher thermal conductivity compared to copper and is expected to be a major upgrade in next year's iPhones.
According to the same rumours, the graphene heat sink will be combined with a new metal frame for the battery to promote better heat transfer and cooling.
