The new Galaxy S8 seems to be prepared without a 3.5mm headphone port.
Some have accused Apple (conspiracy theories are endless) of wanting to control the headphone market (mercy) and therefore removed the input of analogue headphones. As if only Apple makes wireless headphones. Some people's imaginations are off the charts - not to mention insecurities that need a good psychologist.
I wonder what they will say now about their beloved Samsung, Apple's rival, who was bragging about the headphone jack on the Galaxy Note 7 (before the explosions started) and who, according to rumors, is also preparing to remove the headphone jack on the upcoming new Galaxy S8?
And of course, the theories say that once this happens, Samsung will replace the standard mini-USB port on its phones with a proprietary port - similar to the lightning port on Apple products. So it too will want to "control" the handset market. Which phobic you are dying to be.
And as if all this wasn't enough, according to the catastrophists, we will have to carry two and three adapters to listen, charge and ... roast coffee with our mobile phones. As if coming up with small, compact all-in-one adapters is a difficult thing for today's technology and for the ... Chinese.
The theories go on to say that by doing so, Samsung will cut into Apple's profits in its famous control of the handset market and - even better - sell that port cheaply to the other Android manufacturers and thus, all united, fight the control of evil Apple.
Sort of a story of Robin Hood (Samsung) versus the evil Sheriff of Nottingham (Apple) who wants all the wealth for himself.
And then they tell you there are no aliens. They live among us!
Of course, the fact that a 100-year-old obsolete technology is still on our state-of-the-art devices, taking up space and blocking other technologies we need, seems logical to some.
I guess some people still wash with their grandmother's tub - they don't get a washing machine. It's very difficult after all to get people to move forward without making them suspect you of anything the human mind puts its mind to.

The information about Samsung's intentions comes from Digital Music News, which claims to have gotten its information from South Korean manufacturers involved in the general distribution of Samsung parts.
In fact, the sources point out that the port Samsung is preparing will be completely incompatible with Apple's lightning (shush!) and will probably prohibit Apple from licensing it. Instead, licensing for all other Android smartphone manufacturers will be simple and perhaps even free.
The purpose behind this will be to force headphone manufacturers to prefer Samsung's port over Apple's lightning port and thus iPhone users etc, will be left with fewer and older options.
If Samsung is actually thinking about this, it's lost. The (over) 1 billion iPhones in the world and the fact that there are accessories for them that Android (with its "easy and free" mini-USB) doesn't even dream of should tell it something.
On the other hand, Apple's move is not meant to turn people so much to lightning headphones as to Bluetooth wireless, which is why it developed the amazing AirPods that it unveiled at the September 7 event.
And, as we know, more and more people have turned to Bluetooth wireless headphones, completely disregarding ports of any kind. But when someone has "gum in their head" they can't see the truth even if they get slapped in the face.
Face it, dear whiners: the future is wireless!
On the other hand, the explosions in the Galaxy Note 7 forced Samsung to consider as a temporary solution to reduce the battery size of the phone in order to avoid the problem in the near future and probably removing the headphone input will give it the necessary space for larger batteries without the risk of explosion in its future models - something Apple first did with the iPhone 7/7 Plus.
See how simple things are? We remove something obsolete that we can do without and we make room for more useful things in order to move forward into the future. And it seems that Samsung, after the explosions, got the message.
So, my dear friends, let's leave the tub and finally get a washing machine. I've seen that technology has come a long way in these things too.
