We were wrongly pleased! Finally with iOS 10 we will not be able to completely delete pre-installed applications.

Recently, Apple revealed one of the best news of all time: most built-in apps on iOS will be able to be removed from the iOS home screen. Upon hearing this news from official lips, iPhone users everywhere clinked their glasses and cheered "finally" all together. And our own Elichord, delighted, wrote his own opinion.

But, shortly afterwards, Apple added an important detail that changed the facts again: what we will be able to remove will only be the icons, the applications themselves will still be loaded on the device.

Craig Federighi speaking on John Gruber's podcast "The Talk Show", clarified that iOS 10 does not completely remove pre-installed apps. It removes the icon from the home screen, user data and some items running in the background but the app remains on the phone. This, of course, means that if we change our minds and want to reinstall it, we may not have to download it from scratch. We'll just need to tap "Get" in the App Store for it to appear.

Should we be particularly concerned about all this? Probably not.

In any case, Apple claims that all of its pre-installed apps take up less than 150 MB. This can be very significant when the phone has reached its storage limit, but in general it doesn't affect the situation. Of course, it's a bit frustrating that, despite our initial joy, we can't finally get rid of those "forced" apps once and for all. But at least, this time, at least, we won't have to hide them in a folder or use tricks to make them disappear.
